Zapatistas!: Documents of the New Mexican Revolution

This collection of EZLN Communiques, interviews and other materials was compiled largely through the Net and was published first on the UT-LANIC web page before it appeared in print from Autonomedia in Brooklyn, New York. The entire book is here in this gopher site, from the introduction/overview by Harry Cleaver to the colophon which tells about the technical making of the book. The material included in the book covers the period from January 1, 1994 til August 1994 just before the first Convencion National Democratica in Aguascalientes, Chiapas.

Chiapas, And the Women?

This collection of stories and analyses of the role and situation of women in Chiapas before and during the Zapatista uprising was compiled by Rosa Rojas who often writes for La Jornada. There is a second volume available in hardcopy but not in e-text.

A book written by several English activists who visited Chiapas in 1998. The book presents a straightforward history of the Zapatistas and then meditates on the issue of international solidarity and provides useful insights and information for those who want to go and to act in support of the Zapatista communities.
