EXERCISE 2

Tying Texts to Standards, 2:
Creating Activities and Results for Goals

Exercise 1 let you practice identifying how specified student tasks and their outcomes correspond to the kinds of learning identified in the Standards.

Exercise 2 reverses this sequence. It will ask you to brainstorm about what kinds of tasks and outcomes would be appropriate to impose on a class at a particular level that needs to develop a specified set of Standards, using one of the reading texts you have already encountered in Units 1 and 2.

In each case, a grade level and Standards goal will be specified for one of the texts. Your job will be to brainstorm about the tasks and student outcomes appropriate for the grade level and standards described.
